My
Story
It’s an honor to work with individuals in making changes towards living their best lives. I’ve always liked the saying, “Not all who wander are lost."
I think of therapy as a safe, guided “wandering” that helps nurture curiosity--in yourself, in others, and in your larger world. One of my primary goals in work with individuals and couples is to shift thinking around challenges from something being “wrong,” to instead seeing certain behaviors as outdated or no longer helping us. Approaches I often use, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness, help strengthen our ability to see and understand ourselves more clearly, so that we can live more intentionally, not at the whims of fate.
I am a licensed clinical social worker. I received my Master’s in Social Work from Smith College School for Clinical Social Work and the University of Iowa School for Social Work. I work individually with adults and teens, as well as with couples. Clients bring a variety of challenges to our work, including depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and relationship struggles. Other areas of interest include blocks in creative endeavors and work life.
